November at the Garden

This year, the day after Thanksgiving means turkey sandwiches – and gingerbread houses galore. Cleveland Botanical Garden’s annual WinterShow, which runs November 23 through December 31, has, over the past four years, grown into a real phenomenon, with bakers from around the area competing for prizes in a variety of divisions and categories. This year, participants had the choice of creating a traditional gingerbread house or one depicting a theme inspired by a beloved carol, “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” After taking in the show with friends and family, you might enjoy one of three hot chocolates being offered in the Garden Café, or do some shopping in the Garden Store. Offerings this year include spectacular ornaments from around the world, gifts and books for the gardener, unusual stocking stuffers and wonderful aromatic botanicals (think potpourri and candles).
